About
I’m Steve. I live in a small town that most people drive past on the way to somewhere else.
I’m a father, a toxic-water fisherman (I live in New Jersey), a hiker (preferably outside of New Jersey), a backpacker, a gardener, and overall a person who tries to do their best.
This site is where I put the things I’m actually doing. The front yard I’ve been slowly fixing for 5 years. The hydrant tracker I built after a snowstorm. Whatever side project ate my weekend. Once a month I write down what actually happened, which is usually different from what I planned.
The day job
I’m a technical program manager. I’ve spent more than a decade at it, including 8 years around cloud computing, data centers, and enterprise technology, and I hold a B.S. in Information Technology Management.
I used to write about that here too. That writing moved to dolinsky.ai, where it can be a proper argument instead of a thing I tack onto a gardening post. The older posts are still here under Work so nothing breaks.
Personal Views
Personally, I am…wait a second:
Everything on this site is published in my personal capacity. The opinions, strategies, and stories shared here are my own and do not reflect the views of any past, present, or future employer. I take care to discuss work in general terms so that no confidential, proprietary, or privileged information is disclosed.
Okay, now that we’re done with the formalities, where was I?
Right. If you want to talk about any of it, I’m on LinkedIn and X. New posts go out over RSS.
